Cookies and browser storage at Waytale

1. Our approach

Waytale uses strictly necessary browser storage for authentication, security and language selection. Optional analytics is off until you accept it. You can refuse or change your choice at any time through Analytics preferences. When accepted, GA4 receives page and interaction events and Waytale receives a limited page beacon.

Required authentication and security storage remains available. You can use browser controls to block or remove storage, but doing so may affect sign-in or other core functionality.

2. What we use

• Authentication and session storage: supports sign-in, account security and access to private organisation areas.
• Security and service storage: supports safe operation, abuse prevention and interface continuity.
• Language preference storage: remembers an English or French public-site preference on this device.
• Optional analytics: after your agreement, GA4 records page and interaction events, while Waytale receives limited page and performance events through /api/beacon. No email addresses, verification codes or li_ed values are sent as event properties.
• Anonymous story statistics: on story pages, Waytale counts whether the text was read or the audio played, and for how long, to give each organisation aggregate figures per story. No cookie or browser storage is used, no IP address or identifier is kept, and the random key used only lives for a single page view. This exempt audience measurement does not depend on the analytics choice.

The exact storage items can vary with the browser, authentication flow and app configuration. The operator should update this description if the live implementation introduces another storage item.

3. Cookie and storage table

The table describes the purposes without inventing fixed lifetimes. The duration is session or as described in the browser/app configuration.

No third-party advertising cookies are intentionally introduced by the current public-site implementation. If a future integration places third-party cookies or similar identifiers, this policy should be updated before that integration is activated.

4. Browser controls

Use Analytics preferences in the site footer or account menu to accept, decline or change your choice. Blocking storage in the browser may affect authentication or security; declining optional analytics does not.
