Terms of use

Waytale terms for the website and service

These terms describe the basic conditions for using the public Waytale website, organisation workspaces and visitor experiences. Product-specific order terms may supplement them.

Effective and last updated: September 21, 2026.

1. Acceptance

By accessing the website or using the Waytale service, you agree to these terms and the linked privacy and cookie policies. If you use Waytale for an organisation, you confirm that you can bind that organisation or have its authority to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to enter a binding agreement under the law that applies to you. The service is designed primarily for organisations, teams and visitors; customers are responsible for ensuring that their users and visitor experiences meet applicable age, accessibility, safety and sector requirements.

3. Accounts and access

You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting credentials and keeping access limited to authorised people. Tell us promptly about suspected compromise, unauthorised access or incorrect permissions. We may apply reasonable security controls, verification steps or access limits to protect the service.

4. Organisation and customer responsibilities

Customers control the stories, media, routes, QR codes, translations, audio and other material they publish. They must have the rights, permissions and legal bases needed to upload, process and display that material, and must provide visitors with any notices required by law.

Customers must provide notices and obtain permissions for visitor content, photographs, video, audio recordings, voice likenesses, location data, testimonials, participation data and QR-code experiences where applicable. They must configure experiences safely and avoid misleading, unlawful or harmful instructions.

Where Waytale processes visitor data on a customer's behalf, the customer remains responsible for its instructions, controller duties and a data processing agreement where required.

5. Visitor content and rights

You retain rights in content you submit, subject to the rights needed for Waytale to host, reproduce, adapt for technical delivery, display and provide the service. You grant Waytale a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for those service purposes during the relevant customer relationship.

You represent that your content is lawful, accurate enough for its purpose, non-infringing and suitable for the audience and location where it is published. Remove or correct content when it becomes inaccurate or when permissions expire.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not use Waytale to break the law, infringe rights, harass, defraud, threaten or endanger people.
  • Do not upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass security or usage controls.
  • Do not use QR codes or visitor routes to distribute deceptive instructions, unsafe activities, unlawful surveillance or content that violates applicable rules.
  • Do not scrape, resell or materially reproduce the service except as permitted by law or written agreement.

7. Intellectual property

Waytale and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, design, branding, documentation and underlying technology. Except for the limited rights granted by these terms, no ownership is transferred. Waytale names, marks and visual assets may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement without permission.

8. Feedback

If you share suggestions or feedback, you allow Waytale to use it without restriction or payment to improve the service, provided that we do not identify you publicly without permission.

9. Third-party services

The service may rely on or link to third-party services. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Waytale is not responsible for a third party's independent service, content, availability or processing, except where applicable law says otherwise.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Waytale available and useful, but availability may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages, events outside reasonable control or changes to the service. We may add, remove or change features and will use reasonable notice for material changes where appropriate.

11. Free and paid plans; billing

Waytale may offer free and paid plans. Prices, taxes, billing intervals, payment terms, renewal rules, usage limits and commercial commitments are set out at the relevant order, checkout or plan information and are not fixed by this document. Do not rely on a website description as a substitute for the applicable commercial terms.

Customers must provide accurate billing information and pay amounts due under the applicable order. Any cancellation, refund or renewal rights are governed by the applicable plan or order and mandatory law.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access when reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, unlawful use, serious breach, risk to people or the service, or a customer's instruction. We may terminate a service relationship according to the applicable order or these terms. On termination, access and licences may end, subject to any export, deletion, legal hold or transition obligations that apply.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Waytale is provided on an as-available basis. We do not promise that every visitor experience, translation, route, media item, QR code or third-party service will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete or suitable for a particular purpose. Customers remain responsible for reviewing and supervising their published experiences.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Waytale and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data or expected savings arising from use of or inability to use the service. Any aggregate direct liability cap should be completed in the applicable order or by the operator after legal review; mandatory consumer and statutory rights are not limited.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, a customer will defend and indemnify Waytale against third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from the customer's unlawful content, visitor experience, breach of these terms, infringement of rights or failure to obtain required permissions. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Waytale's own breach or misconduct.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

The governing law, courts and dispute-resolution arrangements have not been supplied. Operator details to complete before final publication: the governing law and jurisdiction clause must be completed and reviewed for the relevant customers, consumers and countries. Mandatory rights that apply to you are not displaced by this placeholder.

17. Contact and changes

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@waytale.co. We may update the terms when the service or law changes and will publish the revised effective or last-updated date.
